Birding Tours
Icy Strait
Icy Strait Point, the only privately-owned cruise ship port in the United States, is where our tours begin. The cruise ship dock is just outside the left side of the photo. A second dock has been built since this photo was taken, and is located near the center-top of the photo.
Regularly scheduled birding tours depart 1-3 times per day, most cruise ship call days, between the last week of April and the second week of September.
If you are cruising with any of the following cruise lines, you should be able to book directly from their websites. The tour is called "Discovering Birds and Nature of Hoonah," or "Discovering Birds of Hoonah," depending on the cruise line. They are the same tour, however. Some cruise lines may not show all 2025 booking availabilities on their website yet.

New Booking Options!
Since May 2023, we have been running two vans with two guides! Independent booking will allow us to take clients from more than one cruise line on a tour (something the cruise lines do not allow when booking through them). It also gives us the ability to communicate with clients before a tour if necessary. If your cruise line doesn't offer this tour, or if you prefer to book independently, contact me via email or phone. I will check our schedule to see if we can arrange a separate tour for you.
